The Welcome to Georgia Global Reception will kick off the week of events with our hosts, sponsors and partners gathering the entire group of 30 African countries that are represented in the Georgia Africa Connection network  as well as all of the African American candidates that are running for local, state and federal offices to welcome our guests and start off the week of events with an evening reception in the most diverse county in the State of Georgia.

Black Lawmakers and African Sister Cities  8 AM – 11 AM

Representative Sandra G. Scott of the Georgia General Assembly former Vice Chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus will host our guests at the Georgia State Capitol. Here our participants will get to experience the inside of the Georgia State Capitol Building to hear from policy makers, advocates and business owners on the connection that Georgia has to the African continent and the Next Generation the work that they continue to do to unite the Diaspora in creating Sister Cities.

Civil Rights Leaders and the “Real” Atlanta  12 PM – 9 PM

Honorable Dr. Arikana Chiambiori-Quao Former African Ambassador to the United States will be joined by Georgia’s black elected officials, civil rights leaders, faith leaders, activists, organizers, business owners for several private events including a lunch, civil rights bus tour and private dinner at the home of one of Atlanta’s Afro-Champions private residence.

The Georgia Africa Business Summit is two days of education and engagement in bi-lateral trade and investment opportunities within Georgia and Africa. With presentations, workshops and networking with US and African government officials, business owners, non-profits and business organizations to develop the global opportunities in Georgia and Africa.

Day two of the Georgia Africa Business Summit will feature the youngest President of the Georgia chapter of the NAACP as well as the Global Women’s Impact Dinner and Concert that will feature top women panelists from around the world to empower our women to lead in their industries for the “Globalization on the Next Generation”. (Dinner and Concert tickets are sold separately from Business Summit)

The Next Generation Summit  10 AM – 5 PM

Spawn from the Inaugural African Diaspora Conference near Dallas, Texas this young group of Millennials and Generation Z are putting together their own summit to educate the elders and themselves in the power of the Next Generation and Connecting the Wisdom of the past with the innovation of the future. The entire summit is organized by the Next Generation Group which includes those from the Diaspora and on continent in various industries in business and government.

3rd Annual Global Black History Honors  7 PM – 11 PM

The 3rd Annual Global Black History Honors is a celebration of the achievements and accomplishments of black people globally. Celebrated during black history month every year this event brings together global impact leaders in ten different industries to show the connectivity of black people in the global marketplace. This event will be the final conclusion of the Georgia Africa Connection Week 2020 and feature red carpet reception, awards gala, live performance, fashion show and special guests.
